I started Very Virtual in May 2006 and am currently in the process of redesigning my business to make more use of my over 30 years experience as a technical writer, trainer, instructional designer, and project manager.
Some of my accomplishments include:
- Department project leader for 20+ complex projects completed within the designated time frames and budgets. As an example, a two-year, 13-system application implementation, in which I managed four teams developing training materials/programs for 600+ employees.
- Designed and wrote two company newsletters distributed to a worldwide audience of 900+ readers.
- Participated in a company-wide project to analyze, document, and implement business processes to ensure ISO9000 certification.
- Effectively analyzed, organized, documented, and presented training information in over 30 different subjects for 15+ clients/employers, including Disney Imagineering, ARCO, TRW, Toshiba America, Magellan Systems, Sprint, Intuit, and buy.com.
- Planned and executed a budget of $3.8 million to within 2% of my original projection.
- Provided training/supervision for Sprint’s 13-week, 18-student technical support classes, including taking live calls.
