The applicant gets 2 retakes for any failed portion of the CVA. This also includes the mandatory Digital Literacy exam. Therefore, the applicant gets 3 attempts at each exam before failing the CVA. For each retake, the same elective exam(s) must be taken.
The applicant must take all portions of the exam within thirty (30) days from the date of application.
Certification Eligibility
Any regular IVAA member in good standing for a minimum of ninety (90) days prior to requesting the exam and upon payment of the required fee may take the exam.
Examination Fees (US Funds)
The cost to take the CVA Exam is $120.00.
Should an applicant fail any portion of the CVA exam on the first attempt, a maximum of two (2) retakes will be available at $30.00 per test. Examinees must wait a minimum of 30 days but not more than 3 months to apply for a retake exam. Should the examinee fail to pass the two retake exams, the examinee will need to reapply for the CVA Exam again at full price.
